Locomotives of the Great Eastern Railway

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Great Eastern Railway was formed on 1 August 1862, when the Eastern Counties Railway changed its name. The ECR had originally been built to 5 ft (1,524 mm) gauge, was converted to 4 ft 8+12 in (1,435 mm) standard gauge in September and October 1844.[1]
