Summary

Description
Resplendent Liverpool Street Station Pilot at Fenchurch Street
The RCTS East London Tour of 14 April 1951 (cf. TQ3884 : Rail Tour at Stratford Station) employed the Liverpool Street Station Pilot, starting from Fenchurch Street and going via Millwall Junction to Blackwall, then North Woolwich and back to Stratford behind this engine, seen in a siding beforehand. It is ex-GE Holden class S56 No. 53 (built 5/1904, LNER class J69 No. 7053, 1946 No. 8619), which was refurbished early in 1948, so acquiring an 'E' prefix; as BR 68619 it survived until 10/61. (See also TQ4379 : RCTS East London Tour at North Woolwich).
