Fathabad (Persian: فتح اباد), formerly Fathabad-e Sofla (فتح اباد سفلي), also Romanized as Fatḩābād-e Soflá; also known as Fāteḩābād and Fatḩābād,[3] is a city in the Central District of Marvdasht County, Fars province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 4,688 in 1,106 households, when it was a village in Rudbal Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 4,795 people in 1,297 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,739 people in 1,359 households It was the largest village in its rural district.[2]

After the census, the village of Fathabad-e Sofla was elevated to the status of the city of Fathabad.[4]
