New York's 33rd State Senate district is one of 63 districts in the New York State Senate. It has been represented by Democratic Senator Gustavo Rivera since 2011, following his victory over corrupt incumbent Democratic Senator Pedro Espada Jr. in the 2010 primary elections.

Geography

District 33 covers many neighborhoods in the central and south Bronx, including Kingsbridge Heights, Tremont, East Tremont, Crotona, Fordham, Belmont, Van Nest, and Morris Park.[3]

The district overlaps with U.S. congressional districts 13, 14, and 15, and with New York State Assembly districts 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 86, and 87.[4]
