Tremella mesenterica es una especie de hongo del género Tremella, familia Tremellaceae, orden Tremellales. Fue descrita por Retz.[1]​

Suele aparecer durante todo el año, incluso en condiciones de sequía.[2]​ No es comestible.[2]​

Descripción

Hongo gelatinoso brillante de color amarillo, aunque puede variar a limón o naranja.[2]​ Su carpóforo es amorfo y lobulado.[2]​

Distribución y hábitat

Especie cosmopolita.[3]​[4]​ Suele habitar en troncos y ramas caídas de bosques.[2]​
