The Waiheke Local Board is one of the 21 local boards of the Auckland Council. It is one of three local board areas overseen by the Waitematā and Gulf Ward councillor.[2]

The local board area includes Waiheke Island, Rangitoto Island, Motutapu Island, Motokorea Island, Motuihe Island, Ponui Island and Rakino Island.[2]

Cath Handley is the current chair of the board.[2]

Waiheke local board covers 154.76 km2 (59.75 sq mi)[3] and had an estimated population of 9,420 as of June 2023,[1] with a population density of 61 people per km2.
