Salami Rural District (Persian: دهستان سالمی)[a] is in Khanafereh District of Shadegan County, Khuzestan province, Iran.[3] It is administered from the city of Khanafereh.[4][b]

After the 2006 National Census, Khanafereh Rural District was separated from the Central District and renamed Salami Rural District in the establishment of Khanafereh District, which was divided into two rural districts.[3]

At the census of 2011, Salami Rural District's population was 14,848 in 3,343 households.[5] At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 10,504 in 2,734 households. The most populous of its six villages was Salami, with 3,019 people.[2]
