Rossana Cambron

Rossana Cambron is an American activist from Los Angeles, and national co-chairwoman of the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA). Before her election alongside Joe Sims in 2019, she coordinated the activities for the CPUSA in Southern California.[1]

Activism

As an activist in my early 20s, I didn’t know much about what communism really was; all I’d heard was they were bad people that could hurt you and your loved ones. Being active in the Chicano student movement, I came across a member of MEChA (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán) who mentioned to me that the Communist Party USA was giving a class on Marxism and asked if I was interested in going.[2]

In 2006 Cambron was Communist Party USA's Southern California district organizer.[3]

In 2010 and 2015, Cambron was a Mundo Popular Coordinator for the Communist Party USA paper, People's World.[4]

Dee Myles and Cambron represented the Communist Party USA at the 16th Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties, Nov. 13–16, 2014 in Ecuador.[5]

Cambron and Chris Butters represented the Communist Party USA at the 20th World Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties, Athens 22–23 November 2018, with Cambron delivering the contribution of the CPUSA.[6] In June 2019 Joe Sims and Cambron became co-leaders of the Communist Party USA.

In March 2021, Cambron led the Communist Party USA delegation during a meeting with the Communist Party of China.[7]
