Monday Night Hockey is the branding used for Canadian broadcasts of National Hockey League (NHL) games on Monday nights. It was originally broadcast on Sportsnet as Rogers Monday Night Hockey in the 2022–23 and 2023–24 NHL seasons, replacing Hometown Hockey which had aired from the 2014–15 to the 2021–22 seasons. Beginning in the 2024–25 season, it will exclusively stream on Amazon Prime Video as Prime Monday Night Hockey under a two-year sub-licensing agreement.

History

On June 28, 2022, Rogers Communications announced that it would be canceling its Hometown Hockey program after 8 years on the air and that Sportsnet would replace it with a new brand for its Monday night broadcasts of the NHL.[1]

Then, on October 17, one day before its first broadcast, Sportsnet announced the new package would be called Rogers Monday Night Hockey and debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs going against the Arizona Coyotes.[2][3]

On April 25, 2024, the NHL and Sportsnet's parent company Rogers Communications announced that Amazon Prime Video signed a two-year deal to exclusively stream Monday night games in Canada under the Prime Monday Night Hockey brand.[4]
