Chelgerd (Persian: چلگرد)[a] is a city in the Central District of Kuhrang County, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and district.[4] It is also the administrative center for Shurab-e Tangazi Rural District.[5] The city is populated by Lurs.[6]

Demographics

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 2,708 in 539 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 3,061 people in 596 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 2,989 people in 753 households.[2]
