The Bangriposi–Puri Intercity Superfast Express is a Superfast train belonging to East Coast Railway zone that runs between Bangriposi railway station and Puri in India. It was introduced in 2006 as tri-weekly express between Bhubaneswar and Baripada. It was later extended to Bangriposi and frequency increased to daily. In May 2023, it was extended to Puri. It is currently being operated with 12891/12892 train numbers on a daily basis.[1][2][3]

Coach composition

The train has standard ICF rakes with max speed of 110 kmph. The train consists of 16 coaches:

  • 1 AC Chair Car[4]
  • 6 Second Sitting
  • 7 General Unreserved
  • 2 Seating cum Luggage Rake

There is another rake of this train which operates on weekdays consisting of 14 coaches. 2 less Unreserved coaches are there.

Traction

After the electrification of complete route , Now both trains are hauled by a Santragachi Electric Loco Shed-based WAP-4 Electric locomotive from Bangriposi to Puri and vice versa.
