Ва́утер Я́кобюс Ханегра́фф (Ханегра́афф) (нидерл. Wouter Jacobus Hanegraaff; род. 10 апреля 1961, Амстердам, Нидерланды) — нидерландский религиовед и историк культуры, один из ведущих в мире специалистов по истории эзотерики и герметической философии.[1]
Первый президент Европейского общества исследователей западного эзотеризма.
Биография
Родился 10 апреля 1961 года в христианской семье теологов.[2]
В 1982—1987 годы учился игре на классической гитаре в филиале Института искусств ArtEZ в Зволле.
В 1986—1990 годах изучал историю культуры, со специализацией по альтернативным религиозным движения в XX веке, в Утрехтском университете.
В 1992—1996 годы — научный сотрудник факультета религиоведения Утрехтского университета.
В 1995 году получил докторскую степень в Утрехтском университете защитив диссертацию «Религия Нового века и западная культура: эзотеризм в зеркале секулярного мышления» (англ. New Age Religion and Western Culture: Esotericism in the Mirror of Secular Thought).
В 1996—1999 годы работал научным сотрудником в Нидерландской ассоциации научных исследований, включая проведение исследований в Париже.
С 1 сентября 1999 года по настоящее время — профессор истории герметической философии и смежных дисциплин Амстердамского университета.[3]
В 2002—2005 годы — президент Нидерландского религиоведческого общества.
Основатель и в 2005—2013 годах президент Европейского общества исследователей западного эзотеризма.
В 2006 годы избран членом Нидерландской королевской академии наук.
Член редакционных советов научных журналов Religion, Numen, Religion Compass, Esoterica, а также член консультативных советов научных журналов Journal of Contemporary Religion и Nova Religio.
