El terrateniente es el que posee tierras. Se usa en general principalmente para referirse a los propietarios de grandes extensiones de terreno o hacendados.[1]​

Origen del término

La palabra terrateniente procede del sistema feudal de las monarquías medievales. Hace referencia a nobles con vastos campos agrícolas.
