  • Almíbar, sirope usado para conservar alimentos, así como en repostería.
  • Jarabe, sirope usado en coctelería, bebidas y algunos postres. «Sirope» y «jarabe» proceden del mismo origen: sherab (en árabe). Mientras que «jarabe» entró al castellano directamente del árabe, «sirope» entró vía las lenguas europeas (francés sirop, italiano sciroppo, inglés syrup)
