Celda Clark(1897)

La celda de Clark, inventado por el ingeniero inglés Josías Latimer Clark en 1873, es una celda de química húmeda (coloquialmente: batería) que produce una gran estabilidad de voltaje. En 1893, la salida de la célula de Clark en el 15 C fue definida por el Congreso Eléctrico Internacional como 1,434 voltios, y esta definición se convirtió en ley en los Estados Unidos en 1894. Esta definición más tarde fue sustituida por una basado en la pila Weston.
