La benzoquinona () es una quinona con un solo anillo de benceno, de los cuales solo hay dos isómeros:

  • 1,4-benzoquinona, más común (también para-benzoquinona, p-benzoquinona, para-quinona, o simplemente quinona)
  • 1,2-benzoquinona, menos común (también orto- benzoquinona, o-benzoquinona, orto-quinona)
  • La 1,3-benzoquinona no existe, porque su estructura sería no plana y muy tensa, aunque se conocen derivados.

Se ha encontrado una p-benzoquinona alquilada en los rizomas de Iris kemaonensis.[1]​
