In 2001, the village of Vuren had 1575 inhabitants. The built-up area of the village was 0.47 km², and contained 608 residences.[4] The statistical area "Vuren", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 2090.[5]

The fort at Vuren formed as part of the defensive Hollandic Water Line.
