The United States Student Association (USSA) was an American student government association.
The organization was born in August 1978 during a joint meeting between the National Student Association and the National Student Lobby. The membership of both organizations voted overwhelmingly to merge due to overlapping lobbying work and student government-based membership. The National Student Lobby itself was originally born of a split with the National Student Association.[1]
The USSA collapsed in the late 2010s[2] (although its website is active, as of 2024). Currently, there is a plan to revive the USSA with the help of the current in-term president and the USSAF. The revival is supported by the Ontario Student Union.[2]
