Background

Tubi uses a real-time bidding platform for advertisers for delivering video ads across various platforms.[6] Former Fox TV chairman, Sandy Grushow, is an advisory board member.[7] Former Vice Chairman of Lionsgate, Mark Amin, is an investor. The company behind Tubi, Adrise, has raised $4 million in capital. Principal investors include Foundation Capital, Bobby Yazdani, Zod Nazem, SGH Capital and Streamlined Ventures.[8][9]

In 2018, Tubi closed a $25 million growth capital facility with Silicon Valley Bank. The proceeds will help fund growth across all fronts including content acquisition and marketing.[10] Tubi was profitable in the fourth quarter of 2018, marking a major milestone, and noted they will reinvest the profits into additional content acquisitions in the coming year.[10] This milestone was driven by a 2018 revenue growth of over 180% and viewers watching 4.3 times the amount of content.[10]

Availability

Tubi is available on Android and iOS mobile devices, and on OTT devices such as Roku, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, Sony, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Samsung, Amazon Fire TV, TiVo, and Comcast Xfinity X1, in addition to its website.[3]
