History

The Iconic was launched in 2011 by three founders and is part of the Global Fashion Group.[8] The company has been led by CEO Erica Berchtold since May 2019.[9] In January 2018, it was announced that former CEO Patrick Schmidt would take on a new role as Co-CEO of GFG[10] with former Kinnevik Investment Director, Christoph Barchewitz.[11] The Iconic announced in October 2018 that Rebel Sport Managing Director, Erica Berchtold, would take over as CEO[12] in February 2019[13] with Jere Calmes succeeding her as CEO in July 2023.[14]

In January 2024, email/password combinations stolen from another site were used to access THE ICONIC's website and accounts were taken over. THE ICONIC responded to this incident by refunding all ineligible purchases. [15]
