[Music] Hi, my name is Anna and welcome to the Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Women and Children's Center. We'll provide you and your family with excellent care and will make the delivery of your baby special. Today we're going to give you a tour of our labor and delivery, post partum, and intermediate care nursery. You can get to our facility off of Highway 101. We're located on the corner of Bicentennial and Mendocino. Please call ahead to let us know you're coming. We'll make sure everything is ready for you. Please enter through the main entrance of the hospital between 6 AM and 8:30 PM. If you're checking in after hours, enter through the Emergency entrance located on the west side of the hospital. Follow the red signs. Please take the elevators to the third floor where Labor and Delivery is located. When you get off the elevator, the security guard will issue you a badge. The badges are a part of our hospital's effort to keep you, your baby and your family safe and secure. Hi, my name is Kayla and welcome! When you enter our Labor and Delivery unit, you'll be greeted by our unit assistant who will check you in and escort you to one of our private rooms. If you need language assistance, including American Sign Language, please let our nurses know of your need for an interpreter. The interpreters are here to serve you with your language needs. This is one of our new labor-delivery-recovery rooms designed with you, your baby and family's comfort in mind. We have everything you'll need during your labor, the delivery of your baby and your recovery period. We utilize state-of-the-art fetal monitors with telemetry. This monitor allows you to have freedom of movement, to walk around, and even shower, depending upon you and your baby's health and well-being. It remotely feeds information to our nurses, doctors and midwives, so even if we aren't in the room with you, all of our expert staff are always aware of what's going on with you and your baby. Our Labor and Delivery suites are staffed by obstetricians, doctors who specialize in OB, and certified nurse-midwives. The excellent care you receive prenatally will continue as many of our obstetricians and certified nurse-midwives also work in Labor and Delivery. Here in Labor and Delivery, you'll have a board-certified obstetrician in house 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We work closely with our team of midwives and nurses to ensure that you have a safe delivery and a healthy baby. We're committed to an excellent experience for you and your family. Hi, I'm Sherry, a certified nurse-midwife. We're specialists for normal pregnancy and birth. As part of the birthing team, the midwives work closely with the doctors and nurses to help make your stay safe and fulfilling. Here at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Women and Children's Center, a midwife will admit you to the hospital, support you during labor, deliver your baby, and provide support after delivery, including lactation and breastfeeding support. We want you to know that we're here for you and any needs that arise during your stay. Although most babies are born through vaginal delivery in the Labor and Delivery suites, occasionally a caesarian section delivery is needed. Hi, and welcome to our caesarian suite. We're located on the same unit as our birthing rooms right here in Labor and Delivery. We're a patient and family-centered care hospital. Once you get settled in, your birth partner can be right here at the head of the bed for the birth of your baby. Once your baby's delivered, it is our goal to get you and your newborn bonding. As soon as possible, we'll make sure you and baby are skin to skin. Now it's time for postpartum where you and your baby will be cared for by a specialized team of nurses. Congratulations and welcome to our postpartum unit at the Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Women and Children's Center. We're on the same floor as the delivery suites so you won't have to travel far to get here. I'm Erin, and this is one of our private rooms where you and your family will be staying. We welcome your birth partner to be with you throughout your entire stay and supply a comfortable couch in each room for this purpose. As part of our family-centered care philosophy, we do not have set visiting hours -- your family and friends may visit you at any time. We do however encourage you to rest and spend lots of uninterrupted time with your newest family member. We also encourage you to be the primary caregiver of your baby. Our expert staff is here to support you through this journey and teach you the necessary skills to feel confident when you go home. ...great for breastfeeding, like you said, when you put him here, he probably... Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Women and Children's Center has a highly skilled, all-registered nurse staff to provide care for you and your baby. Our specialty trained nurses are experts in breastfeeding and the support of mothers and their babies. While we do encourage exclusive breastfeeding, we will support you in your decision to do either breast or bottle-feed. Your breastfeeding nurse will help you develop a plan for feeding that is specialized for you and your baby. As a courtesy, we offer afternoon tea service and a celebratory meal for you and your birth partner. Contracted professional photography services are also available should you choose to take formal photographs. We look forward to seeing you, and we feel confident that your experience here will help prepare you in taking your new baby home. Most babies do great after birth and stay with their moms in their rooms. But some babies need a little extra help, and for them we have our Intermediate Care Nursery. Hi, my name's Aurora. and I'm a nurse in the Intermediate Care Nursery. We're exclusively staffed by specially trained registered nurses and hospital based pediatricians 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We keep our families together, and will support you and your family throughout this time. We've designed the Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Women and Children's Center to provide you and your family with exceptional, safe, and family-centered care. As your children grow, we also have a full service Pediatric Department. We've shown you some of the highlights of the facility today, but there's more to learn and see. If you'd like to visit the center, please contact our Health Education Department for tour information. Thank you for visiting us today. We look forward to meeting you, and providing the very best possible labor and delivery experience. We're looking forward to seeing you here. We look forward to taking care of you. Happy birth day.
