Sukhbir Singh Sandhu (born 6 July 1963) is a retired 1988-batch Indian Administrative Service officer belonging to the Uttarakhand cadre. Sandhu's place of domicile according to official data is Punjab. On,14 March 2024 he was appointed as the Election Commissioner of India.[1][2]

Previously, he served as the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand. Sandhu was appointed as the Chief Secretary when Pushkar Singh Dhami became the Chief Minister and on 6 July 2021 took charge and served there till 31 January 2024. On, 1 February 2024 he was appointed as Secretary to the Lokpal where he served till 14 March 2024. After that, he was appointed the Election Commissioner of India. Earlier, Sandhu served as the chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for about 2 years. He also served as Additional Secretary, of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development. He did his MBBS from Government Medical College, Amritsar. He also has a master's degree in history from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and a law degree. He has published papers on 'Urban Reforms' and 'Municipal Management and Capacity Building'. He was conferred the President Medal in recognition of his services as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, Punjab.
