Shadow of Suspicion is a 1944 American comedy crime film directed by William Beaudine and starring Marjorie Weaver, Peter Cookson and Tim Ryan.[1]

A bank is to receive a valuable necklace. A suspicious con man type shows up at the bank and works his way into an office at the bank. He immediately charms the bank presidents secretary. It’s hard to tell who the con man is working for and he changes his name several times. The bank president turns out to be the thief and hides the necklace into a pair of bronze shoes that he gives his secretary to take to his “mother” who is really an unscrupulous old lady diamond cutter and her cohorts. The con man turns out to be an honest guy working for the police.
