Constructor Institute, formerly known as the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT), is a private non-profit institute in Switzerland founded in 2019 by tech entrepreneur and investor Dr. Serg Bell. The Institute is a part of Constructor Group, an ecosystem comprising education services, technology solutions, and a venture capital fund. Dr Bell founded Constructor Group on the belief that knowledge is the solution against all evil. The Group is inspired by the “Constructor Theory”, a novel and far-reaching approach that reconceptualizes our understanding of scientific laws and the realm of the possible, providing a more universal foundational framework that transcends specific physical theories.

History

Constructor Institute aims to drive transformative advancements in education, science, and technology. The Institute focuses on excellence in teaching and academic research to actively contribute to meaningful societal and economic changes.

Collaborating with renowned institutions such as Université de Genève and the National University of Singapore.,[1][2] the Institute offers advanced programs at the master, Ph.D., and postdoctoral levels. The development of the Institute is supported by the Canton of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland through a 3 million Swiss franc ($3.2 million) funding deal.[3] As a part of the Constructor ecosystem and its network of renowned academics, scientists, investors and entrepreneurs, the Institute's academic strategy is set by the 2010 Nobel Laureate in Physics Konstantin Novoselov.[4] Part of the Constructor ecosystem, in its education branch, is Constructor University, located in Bremen, Germany. In 2021, Constructor Group became the main shareholder of the private Jacobs University[5] in Bremen, Germany.[6] According to the Senate, the new majority owner intends to invest 50 million euros in Jacobs University, half of which in the next two years.[7]

Scientists and academics within the Constructor network

The Constructor ecosystem is composed of renowned and world-class academics and scientists.[8]
