Samandar is a 2024 Gujarati gangster drama,[1] directed by Vishal Vada Vala, starring Mayur Chauhan [2] Jagjeetsinh Vadher, and others. The Film is produced by Kalpesh Palan and Udayraj Shekhwa and is going to be distributed by Rupam Entertainment Pvt Ltd.
Plot
In the ruthless realm of the Fisheries mafia, two childhood friends, Uday and Salman, form a strong and enduring alliance. However, as they delve deeper into the complexities of power, politics, and revenge, their once-unbreakable bond begins to crumble.

Production
The movie has been shot in various parts of Porbandar town of Gujarat. It's the first time Kalpesh Palan and Udayraj Shekhwa come together as producers of the film under the banner of KP & UD Motion Pictures. Kedar & Bhargav were responsible for the music production of the film, featuring singers like Nakash Aziz, Aditya Gadhvi, Vratini Purohit, Bhargav Purohit, Osman Mir and Amir Mir[3] along with others

Release
The announcement of the film was made on August 30th, 2023.[4] The first song Maar Halesa was released on February 26th 2024, which was sung by Aditya Gadhvi and Nakash Aziz. The second song Dil na Dariya Ma was released on March 11, 2024 which was sung by Vartini Purohit.[5] The third song Saavaj Na Thekana was released on April 10th 2024.[6] The film will be released on 17 May 2024. [7]
Reception
Rachana Joshi of Mid-Day Gujarati rated it 3.5 out of 5. She praised story, direction, performances, production and music but criticised the length.[8]
