- Welcome to St. Agnes. - From day one, we found it to be friendly and welcoming, very nurturing, and it just felt right for our kids, it felt like the right decision. - I went to St. Agnes when I was a little girl and you can't get rid of me. St Agnes is amazing, and I've been teaching for 42 years, all in Kindergarten, and it's my family. - We're a Catholic elementary school for pre-school through eighth grade that tries to provide academic education as well as life values and gospel values in our Catholic tradition. We're not just a school that stands alone but a school within a community. And Parish certainly provides the leadership. I think it's a very warm and welcoming environment, and I think children feel safe here. I think that's what the parents want. They want a loving and caring environment for their children, where their children are comfortable when they're away from home. Knowing that their children are going to be cared for as individuals and valued as persons and for their goodness but they also choose it for the academic excellence, and it's very challenging because we give homework to help them reinforce skills that we teach, and we really want to prepare them for the next level of education, so it's really outstanding education. We really have an active technology committee and we continue updating and we provide the children a lot of experiences with technology. We have a very lively sports program. It's a quality academic education, but hopefully it's also a spiritual community. - We can be as active as we want to be in the parent's club or on the school board. We feel like we're a part of it and the teachers really engage us so there's no question about our children being happy and us being happy. - [Sr. Joan] This is the only school that has a religious sister as a principal, and a Dominican, and now we have a second Dominican sister teaching religion in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. And we have a sister that serves- a Dominican sister- as an aide in the first grade classroom. - We try to get the students to embrace that faith, to be a part of knowing that God really loves them and trying to work with a sense of knowing who they are as Christian people. - I pledge to praise people, to give up put-downs, to seek wise people, to notice and speak up about hurts I have caused, to right wrongs, to help others. I will build peace at home, at school, and in my community each day. - We have a tuition assistance program, and we will provide Catholic education for any family who wants to have it. I think if they come, they'll be happy, and they'll want to stay.
