Roger W. Heyns

Roger W. Heyns (1918–1995) was an American professor and academic who served as chancellor of the University of California.

Life

He was born in Iowa in 1918 and died in 1995.[1]

Education

He received his A.B. degree from Calvin College in 1940 and his M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan.[2]

Career

He was the chancellor of UC Berkeley from 1965 to 1971.[1] In 1968, he became involved in the turmoil of Berkeley's Free Speech Movement.[1] He also served as president of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.[3]
