Ro'o-i-Te-Hiripoi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Polynesian mythology, Ro'o-i-Te-Hiropoi is the god of fertility and cultivated plants and is the patron deity of those who work in agriculture. He is also known as the god of spells, prayers dedicated to him are usually for the curing of injuries and illnesses with the exorcising of demons. Ro'o-i-Te-Hiropoi is the son of the sky god Atea and Atanua, his cult was located mostly in the Society Islands in the island of Tahiti.[1] He has several similarities to the Māori God of cultivated plants Rongo.
