(Bagpipes Playing) I stand here before you, not as an example of the American Dream, but as a witness and a messenger. There is no turning back. There is no stopping the clock or stopping the wind or reneging on the task at hand. You have no choice but to keep the momentum going with those who sit beside you now and for those who will come after you. And as my father used to say, "Muevete o quitate." Move or get out of the way. To which my brother would jokingly reply, "Pues, mueveme." Well, move me. (Earthquake) I hope that I have done just that. Moved you. But I expect you already know what my mother big with child and big with expectation learned when she first stepped into the strange open land that the difficult path had just begun, that no journey commences without heartache, that no journey comes to an end without reward, that no journey comes to an end without accomplishment, that no journey comes to an end. I congratulate you class of 2005, and I thank you for allowing me to participate in this memorable ceremony. Muchas gracias. Well, I can report from up here on the platform that that was a most moving speech, and it's clear that this class is filled with movers and shakers. And what they say about poise being powerful is absolutely true.
