Plainclothes is an upcoming film directed by Carmen Emmi and starring Russell Tovey and Tom Blyth.

Premise

Set in 1990s New York and inspired by true events, a working-class undercover officer is tasked with entrapping and apprehending gay men, only to find himself drawn to one of his targets.[1]

Cast

Production

The film marks the feature length directorial debut for Carmen Emmi, who also scripted the film. It is produced by Arthur Landon, Colby Cote and Eric Podwall for Page 1 Entertainment and Lorton Entertainment.[2]

Russell Tovey and Tom Blyth were confirmed in the lead roles in March 2024.[3] That month, Amy Forsyth and Christian Cooke also joined the cast,[4] as well as Maria Dizzia, John Bedford Lloyd and Gabe Fazio.[5]

Filming got underway in Syracuse, New York in February 2024.[6][7] First-look images from the set were released in March 2024.[8]
