The Parramatta class are a forthcoming ferry type to be operated by Transdev Sydney Ferries on Sydney Harbour.

History

In June 2023 Transport for NSW announced it had awarded Richardson Devine Marine a contract to build seven Incat Crowther designed ferries in Hobart to replace the RiverCats on Parramatta River services.[1][2][3] The first is scheduled to be delivered in February 2024.[4]

The ferries are to be named in honour of Australians who have made significant achievements in the fields of science, environment, and innovation. [5]

On 5th March 2024 Transport for NSW announced the first Parramatta-class ferry as "Frances Bodkin", named after Frances Bodkin. [5]
