Ola Tauelangi is an Australian rugby union player of Tongan descent, who plays for Moana Pasifika. His preferred position is flanker.[1]

Early career

Tauelangi is from Ballarat only began playing rugby aged 16.[2] He moved to New South Wales in 2020 and began representing Gordon RFC in the Shute Shield.[3] His performances for Gordon earned him the attention of the Waratahs who invited him to train with the side in pre-season.[4]

Professional career

From Ballarat, Victoria, Tauelangi was named in the Melbourne Rising squad for the 2019 National Rugby Championship where he made his professional debut.[5] Tauelangi moved to Sydney in 2020 and played in Sydney's Shute Shield competition for Gordon Rugby Club from seasons 2020 through to 2022. Having trained with the Waratahs in both 2021 and 2022, it wasn't until 2023 when he was called into the side as an injury replacement ahead of Round 12 of the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season when he was named on the bench against the Rebels where he featured in the final minutes of the game, making an impression off the bench. [6] He was named in the Moana Pasifika squad for the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific season.[7]
