Nizhneudinsky District (Russian: Нижнеу́динский райо́н) is an administrative district, one of the thirty-three in Irkutsk Oblast, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Nizhneudinsky Municipal District.[8] The area of the district is 50,000 square kilometers (19,000 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the town of Nizhneudinsk.[2] Population: 25,694 (2010 Census);[4] 31,122 (2002 Census);[10] 37,293 (1989 Census).[11]

Administrative and municipal status

Within the framework of administrative divisions, Nizhneudinsky District is one of the thirty-three in the oblast.[1] The town of Nizhneudinsk serves as its administrative center.[2] As a municipal division, the district is incorporated as Nizhneudinsky Municipal District.[8]

The territory of Tofalariya is a small historical and cultural region located in the southwestern part of Nizhneudinsky District.[12]
