Naya Pakistan Housing & Development Authority (NAPHDA) is the national construction organization of the Government of Pakistan.[1][2] NAPHDA is responsible for real estate projects' planning, development, construction and management.[3]

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, as of 2015 there is a shortfall of approximately 4.4 million housing units in major cities, highlighting a substantial mismatch between demand and supply in urban housing. If present patterns persist, it is projected that by 2035, the five largest cities in Pakistan will be responsible for 78 percent of the overall housing deficit.[4] In 2020 the State Bank estimated the total housing deficit to be 10.3 million units, with a revised deficit of 3.4 million units in urban areas.[5]

Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder, HI(M) (Retd.) is the chairman of NAPHDA.[6][2]
