Plot

Dr. Philip Salazar and Atty. Lucas Buencamino share a deep childhood bond rooted in their fathers' close friendship. However, tragedy strikes when Lucas' father, Congressman Javier Buencamino dies during surgery performed by Philip's father, Dr. Severino Salazar. This incident fuels a bitter feud between the two families, exacerbated by a substantial inheritance left by Congressman Javier to the hospital founded by the elder Salazar.

Lucas' mother, also a powerful politician, launches a campaign to reclaim the inherited funds, orchestrating events that tarnish Dr. Severino Salazar's reputation as a "Killer Doctor." They manipulate circumstances and character assassinations leading to what appears to be the elder Salazar's suicide. They pay Chief Investigator Balmaceda to cover up evidence of murder and close the case.

Philip, devastated and seeking revenge for his father's death, plots to murder Lucas. However, his plans go awry when an accident meant for Lucas claims the life of his wife, Olivia. In fact, Philip saves Olivia and nurses her back to health, capitalizing on her amnesia by convincing her she is his wife, Claire. Satisfied by Lucas’ loss, Philip takes Claire to America to start a new life.

Lucas, grieving for Olivia, marries his best friend and law school colleague, Melinda Avecilla but secretly mourns his lost love.

Meanwhile, the Salazar General Hospital faces financial trouble due to the Buencaminos' relentless smear campaigns and takeover attempts. Philip returns to Manila to aid his father's co-founder, Dr. Joaquin Serrano to save the hospital. His plan for a short visit becomes permanent so Claire travels back to the Philippines to support her husband Philip.

Despite warning Claire not to interfere, she champions Philip against the Buencaminos. Their love deepens, but Philip fears the return of her memories. He also witnesses the emotional toll Olivia's presence takes on Lucas but keeps his distance.

Claire begins to recall fragments of her past, including vivid dreams of domestic violence and flashes of Lucas' face. As she investigates her life, she discovers that Philip's stories were fabricated and that she is, in fact, Olivia De Amor-Buencamino, the long-dead wife of her husband's arch enemy.

Furious at Philip's lies and betrayal, she keeps this knowledge secret, determined to uncover the real truth about her person, the events that conspired before the accident, her life with Lucas and Philip's presence at the crash site.

Claire bides her time, pretending all is well, until she can finally unravel the mystery and reveal the truth to Philip and Lucas.

With Philip tricked into the fabricated contents of a folder about his father's death, he mistakenly realizes his pursuit for justice was for nothing.

Following his decision to go back to America with Claire, she sets her plan into motion and stages her own kidnapping. As the people around her worry, and the two husbands race to save her, she finally reveals the truth to everyone that she is Lucas' wife. She is immediately rushed to the hospital after she abruptly faints.

As Olivia wakes up, she tells the truth about her accident and puts the blame on Philip for her staged kidnapping.

With this, Philip gets arrested for his crimes while Olivia gets out of the hospital and tries to rebuild her old life with Lucas, much to Victoria and Melinda's dismay. Fueled by anger, she desires revenge to those who wronged her, and confronts them one by one.

Inside the hospital, Emil also gets arrested, leading he and Philip with a strained friendship in prison. Olivia returns to the Buencamino mansion after she withdraws her case against the hospital, prompting Melinda to move in the mansion once more.

With a war between Melinda and Olivia on set, the truth about Olivia's father, Luis, starts to unfold. Haunted by the past, Victoria meets with Santiago Quijada, a corrupt police officer responsible for committing Victoria's favors.

Santiago and Victoria try to cover up the past while Olivia investigates her father's death. Inside the prison, Philip's friendship with Emil starts to heal as Philip rescues Emil during a prison fight. After all the commotion, their fellow inmate Pablo starts to speak up about the truth of his father's death.

As Olivia's investigation reaches a conclusion, she digs up evidence from her memories and gets Victoria arrested.

In an attempt to save Victoria, Melinda tries to destroy Olivia's reputation to lose her credibility in court, including revelations of her staged kidnapping. With Philip and Victoria's trials reaching a verdict, both of them are proven to be not guilty.

Devastated by the loss, Olivia's life gets even worse as she gets confined into a mental facility.

Amidst all the maltreatment Olivia faces in the facility, she meets another patient named Isabel, a mother waiting for her son, Elias.

Outside of the facility, Lucas' rage gets the best of him as he sets Philip's house on fire. After yet another tragedy, Philip and Emil try to convince the facility about Olivia's sanity.

Victoria's wickedness doesn't stop as she orders Santiago to kidnap and make Olivia suffer. Things don't go to plan when an unexpected person saves her.

Production

The main casts of the series was officially unveiled on May 19, 2023, during the press conference for the then-upcoming television series.[4] The following week, the taping for the series began.[5]

Promotion

The casts held a back-to-back caravan at Vista Mall in Bataan along with the cast of Pira-Pirasong Paraiso.[6] The official full trailer of the series was released on July 10, 2023.[1]

The series alongside Pira-Pirasong Paraiso are co-produced by ABS-CBN and TV5 respectively. Unfortunately, It's Showtime's blocktime agreement with TV5 has been axed on June 30, 2023 due to Tito Vic & Joey's departure from TAPE, Inc., before being moved to GMA Network's sister channel GTV the day after, in which the casts were not allowed to appear on the said show to promote the series. Instead, they had to promoted both shows on TV5's new noontime show, E.A.T. (now Eat Bulaga!)[7]

Broadcast

Alongside Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, the series premiered on a Tuesday (July 25, 2023) instead of a Monday (July 24, 2023) due to the second State of the Nation Address of President Bongbong Marcos, which necessitated the networks to pre-empt their afternoon programming to air a special coverage of the said event.

This is also the first series to air on the second timeslot of Kapamilya Gold in the aftermath of the shutdown of ABS-CBN, with Sandugo being the last series to occupy the timeslot beforehand, which ended its run on March 20 2020, when the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon was already imposed at that time, in which, the said series finished its taping ahead of the suspension of tapings.

Following the launching of Kapamilya Channel, the timeslot block was solely used mostly for reruns of past ABS-CBN series, and eventually the TV airing of How to Move on in 30 Days.

However, Ang sa Iyo Ay Akin was originally supposed to air on the said timeslot, until it was moved to the Primetime Bida timeslot in the aftermath of the ABS-CBN shutdown amidst the community quarantine restrictions imposed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, whose planned timeslot was later occupied by reruns of Got to Believe during the Enhanced community quarantine, and later, reruns of The General's Daughter when Kapamilya Channel launched.

Prior to the said series' premieres, the iQIYI series Hello Heart and Saying Goodbye had a 2-week special premiere, which occupied their intended timeslots on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z, while Studio5 Presents occupied their timeslots on TV5. (The latter of the two aforementioned series aired the finale episode on Monday before the coverage of the State of the Nation Address.)

The show had a marathon of its pilot week on July 30, 2023, occupying the timeslots of KB Family Weekend Sunday edition (Kapamilya Channel), Zinema sa Umaga Sunday edition (A2Z), and Cine Cinco Hollywood Edition (TV5) on that same day.

Timeslot change

On August 23, 2023, the show changed its timeslot from 3:50 pm to 3:45 pm.

On October 23, 2023, the show changed its timeslot to 3:15 pm on TV5. The following changes were made to other platforms on October 30, 2023.
