Localgiving is a non-profit which provides workshops and an online platform to local charities and community groups in the United Kingdom.

History

Localgiving was founded in September of 2009 by Marcelle Speller.[1] The online platform allows prospective donors to search for local charities. As of October 19th, 2012, Localgiving was the only website which allowed donations to unregistered charities using Gift Aid. The organization similarly operates a charity engagement team which trains the staff of small charities. In 2012, a series of match fund campaigns led by Localgiving raised £2.5 million for grassroots charity organizations.[2]
