Biography
He was born at Nuremberg, and a pupil of Heideloff. He painted chiefly in watercolors and etched numerous architectural views of Nuremberg and some subjects from North Italy. He died in Nuremberg.
Family
His older brother, Paul Ritter, was also a painter.
