This is a list of minor-planet discoverers credited by the Minor Planet Center with the discovery of one or several minor planets (such as near-Earth and main-belt asteroids, Jupiter trojans and distant objects).[1] As of May 2021, the discovery of 552,450 numbered minor planets are credited to 1063 astronomers and 247 observatories, telescopes or surveys (see § Discovering dedicated institutions).
