The Lalpir Power Company Limited, (لال پیر پاور کمپنی لمیٹڈ) is power plant located in Mehmood Kot, District Muzaffargarh, Punjab, Pakistan.
It was incorporated in 1994.[1] Lal Pir Power Plant produces 362 MW of electricity whereas PakGen produces 365MW of electricity.[2][3] It is owned by Nishat Group.[4][5]
It is listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange.[6]

History
The plant started its operation in 1997 and was operated by an American company AES Corporation.[6] Nichimen Japan was hired as an EPC contractor.[6]
In 2010, Nishat Group and a consortium acquired the two plants, AES Lalpir and PakGen from AES Corporation.[7] Nishat Group became the controlling sharesholder of the company with a 50 percent shareholding, whereas Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC), which is owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi, acquired 30 percent of the shares, and The City School received 20 percent of the shares.[7]
In 2013, Lapir Power was listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange following an initial public offering at a strike price of PKR 22.[8][9]
