Koller Auctions Ltd.[1] (German: Koller Auktionen AG) is a leading Swiss auction house specializing in international art auctions. Founded in 1958 by Pierre Koller it is among the leading art auctioneers in Switzerland.[2][3] In 2016, the auction house achieved the highest turnover with Swiss art of all auction houses worldwide.[4]

Organization

Besides the headquarters in District 1 in Zürich, Koller also operates a subsidiary in Geneva (Koller Genève) and eight representative offices in cities such as Munich, Düsseldorf, London, Paris, Brussels, Moscow, Shanghai and Beijing. Koller also operates in the lower price segment under the Koller West brand. Koller is currently a member of International Auctioneers, an association of eight auction houses with shared print publication.

History

In 1958, Pierre Koller (1924-2019), an attorney formed the Koller Gallery (Galerie Koller) in Zürich, Switzerland, primarily dealing in fine arts and antiques.[5] Since 2008 the company is known as Koller Auctions Ltd. (Koller Auktionen AG) since the primary business activity became art auctions over the time. It's currently family-owned and managed in the second generation by Cyril Koller.
