Background
Egan is from Raheny in north Dublin.[3] His father Liam was an All-Ireland-winning gaelic footballer.[2][4] Kevin was a member of Raheny GAA, but an injury curtailed his career.[2] He studied journalism at Griffith College Dublin.[2]
Egan worked for RTÉ Sport as a runner at the 2004 Summer Olympics.[2][5][6]
Career
Moving to America in 2009,[2][7] Egan has worked for CNN and has been the commentator for Atlanta United home games on Apple TV+.[8][9] In January 2023, Egan joined Major League Soccer and Apple as a play-by-play announcer for the upcoming season.[10] In February 2024, Egan was announced as a new host for MLS 360 for the 2024 season.[11]
WWE (2021–2024)
He began working for the WWE in 2021[12] under the name Kevin Patrick.[13] He was a commentator on Raw from October 2022[9] before moving to Smackdown in 2023.[14][15]
On 23 January 2024, it was reported that Patrick was removed from the SmackDown commentary team.[16] Two days later, it was reported that he was released from his contract due to WWE not being happy with his announcing skills.[17]
