Jy Simpkin (born 5 March 1998) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the North Melbourne Football Club with their first selection and twelfth overall in the 2016 national draft.[1] He made his debut in the 43-point loss against West Coast in round one of the 2017 season at Etihad Stadium.[2]

Born in Mooroopna, Victoria, Simpkin is of Aboriginal and European descent. He completed his high-school education at Scotch College, as part of an AIEF scholarship program.[3]

Simpkin was named co-captain alongside teammate Luke McDonald, in readiness for the 2023 season. Both would take over as captain from Jack Ziebell.
