Major General James Robert Templer, CB, OBE (8 January 1936 – 14 December 2023) was a British equestrian and army officer.[1]

He competed in two events at the 1964 Summer Olympics.[2] Templer died on 14 December 2023, at the age of 87.[3]

Educated at Charterhouse and Sandhurst, he was commisioned into the Royal Artillery in 1955 and became Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff.
