I'm Jack FitzGerald. I'm a political science major and I work in the Student Success Center as a peer mentor coach. I happen to be a commuter peer mentor so it's a little more particular to students who don't live on campus. I help students with the transition. We help them academically. We help make sure they're becoming more acquainted with campus. A lot of people come with really high expectations and I'm passionate about making sure that everyone's expectations at the university are met and expectations of themselves are met. It's very inspiring as a student when you watch the people that you are working with do well. A lot of that rubs off and makes you want to keep setting examples to students that school needs to be your first priority, that you need to be studying and it keeps showing other students that the better you do the more opportunities will come your way. I really like it when students come in and we're able to sit down and talk about things whether they pertain to what we're meeting about or not. I just really like making the connections and the ones that last long are the really good ones.
