Iolaus hemicyanus is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea (Bioko), the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.[3] The habitat consists of forests.

The larvae feed on Globimetula braunii and Phragmananthera usuiensis.
