The Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department, or IFED for short, is a task force formed by the City of London Police that tracks criminals who commit insurance fraud.[1] The task force was founded in 2012 and is funded by a consortium of British and European insurance companies, including the Association of British Insurers, for £9 million during its first three years.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
The IFED have been featured several times on BBC One's Claimed and Shamed.[8][9]

Back for another series Claimed and Shamed looks at exposing even more insurance fraudsters lying on the phone or caught out on camera. We follow the Met Police and the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department on a number of early morning raids, as they hunt down, arrest and convict suspected insurance fraudsters.
