Indomable (Spanish for "Indomitable") is the upcoming fifth studio album by Spanish singer-songwriter Belinda. It will be released on 2024 through Warner Music Group and exactly 11 years after her previous album Catarsis.[1]

Background and release

Three years after the release of her fourth album Catarsis, Belinda revealed that a fifth album was already in the works. In May 2016, she posted a sneak peek of a ballad on her social media, promising that her new album would fit perfectly into her discography, which led fans to think she was going back to the roots of her two first two albums, Belinda and Utopía.[2]

In April 2017, she announced the lead single “Báilalo”, with Zion & Lennox and Steve Aoki, along with a music video directed and produced by her ex-boyfriend Criss Angel. However, the song and the video were never released, allegedly because Angel owned the rights of all her work. The ending of their relationship was a possible factor to the conflict over the material's ownership.[3] Despite this, they were leaked on February 27, 2020. Belinda uploaded the audio on her YouTube channel on March 1, 2020.[4] She described the video as "full of colors, talent and Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas". The song hasn't been available on digital platforms.[5]

In the following years, Belinda has been collaborating with other artists such as Juan Magán, Manuel Turizo, Lérica, Los Ángeles Azules, Lalo Ebratt, Horacio Palencia, La Materialista, Christian Nodal, Lola Indigo, Tini, Ana Mena and Abraham Mateo with their respective songs being "Dejáte Llevar", "Un Traguito", "Amor a Primera Vista", the remix version of "La Chapa Que Vibran", "Si Nos Dejan", "La Niña de la Escuela", "Las 12" and "Me Encantaría". She once again collaborated with Magán and Lérica on the songs "Madrid X Marbella", "Flamenkito" and "No Estamos Tan Locos". She also starred in the Spanish Netflix series Welcome to Eden, which was her first acting role in five years since her small appearance in Baywatch in 2017, as well as her first television role in twelve years since Mujeres asesinas, and recorded two songs "Eden" and "Colorblind", the former serving as the opening sequence of the show. In February 2022, in the midst of a controversial breakup with Christian Nodal (her ex-fiancé), Belinda posted on her YouTube channel another song named "K-brón", aimed at him. Again like "Báilalo", it didn't enter the digital platforms. Other than that, Belinda didn't release any further songs of her own. In addition, she served as a coach for La Voz México between 2019 and 2020.

It wasn't until August 7, 2023, that Belinda finally announced her triumphant return to music, having signed a new label contract with Warner Music Group, expressing how she had lost faith in the industry and is thankful that collaborating with the aforementioned artists has helped rediscover herself.[6] On January 17, 2024, Belinda deleted all the posts from her Instagram profile, and teased the album's lead single "Cactus", which was released on January 31.[7]
