Illinois's congressional districts

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Illinois' congressional districts since 2023

Illinois is divided into 17 congressional districts, each represented by a member of the United States House of Representatives. The majority of Illinois' districts are located in the Chicago area.

In the 2022 midterm elections, per the 2020 United States census, Illinois lost a congressional seat.[1]

Illinois’ congressional districts are an example of partisan gerrymandering, in this case favouring the Democratic Party, which controls all chambers of the Illinois legislature, which draws the district boundaries.[2]
