Hiu Station (日宇駅, Hiu-eki) is a passenger railway station located in the city of Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by JR Kyushu.[1][2]

Lines

The station is served by the Sasebo Line and is located 45.5 km from the starting point of the line at Hizen-Yamaguchi.[3] Besides the Sasebo Line local services, the JR Kyushu Rapid Seaside Liner also stops at the station. In addition, although Haiki is the official starting point of the Ōmura Line, most of its local services continue on to terminate at Sasebo using the Sasebo Line tracks.[4]

Station layout

The station, which is unstaffed, consists of an island platform serving two tracks with a siding. A simple shelter is provided at the station as a waiting room. Another shelter is provided on the platform, together with an automatic ticket vending machine.[2][3]

Passenger statistics

In fiscal 2020, the station was used by an average of 421 passengers daily (boarding passengers only), and it ranked 232rd among the busiest stations of JR Kyushu.[7]
