Early life

Hassan Aourid was born on December 24, 1962, in Errachidia, into a middle-class family. His father was a school administrator and teacher in Morocco and France. He taught the Arabic language and Moroccan culture to children in the Moroccan community in the city of Tours until his retirement in 2004.

Due to his academic achievements, he was selected to study at the Royal College in Rabat, where he had the opportunity to interact with Crown Prince Sidi Mohammed ben — son of — El Hassan (future King Mohammed VI) until his high school graduation. Later on, he obtained a bachelor's degree in public law, a postgraduate diploma (DES), and a doctorate in political science. His doctoral research focused on "the cultural factors of protest discourse in Morocco" through a study on "Islamism and Berberism".
